The Okanogan Highlands is in North Central Washington and is very near the border to Canada. We have a very rugged terrain. We advise our guest hunters to prepare for the trip by practicing moderate exercise routine all-year long. We hunt at an altitude of about 4,000 to 5,000 feet and healthy lungs help! We also advise our hunters to prepare for both warm and cold temperatures since we can have snow in October. Our surroundings have stayed "green" in some years through October since the Okanogan Highlands can get some rain in the summer. We also experience winds that can get quite chilly.

The Okanogan Highlands has mule deer and white-tailed deer. We also have grouse, wild turkeys, bear,  and the occasional cougar.

Our guides scout our privately held land for watering holes, bedding areas, and vegetation for signs of deer.

Our hunting grounds did not suffer any losses during the wildfires that dotted Okanogan County in the summer of 2015. The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) predicts a "favorable" year for mule deer. WDFW publishes hunting forecasts yearly.  The pdf file offers plenty of information for hunters. Although our county is still under "high" fire danger, our brush and vegetation is green and does not "crunch" too loudly when a hunter walks around the woods. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources publishes a state-wide map with information on burning restrictions per county. This map can get quite handy for hunters who camp out in the woods who may wish to have a campfire at night.
