Rare Piebald Deer Photographed by Deer Hunter

According to Victor Echavez of the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife, hunters have 1% chance of seeing a Piebald Deer. Dennis Hicks was able to capture a photo of a Piebald Deer that is half brown and half white. Hicks’ game camera snapped the photo north of Lake City, Florida.

The color is a result of genetic mutation wherein the deer is more white than a regular deer. None of the other biologists in the Lakeland office has seen a Piebald Deer. Piebalds do not live as long. Please click on the link below to see photo and more of the article from The Ledger.
