Spirits Are High For Deer Hunting Opening Weekend

Friday, October 12, 2012

With rain finally hitting Washington State, the forecast for deer hunting in Okanogan County is excellent. Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist Matt Monda said "We have probably the highest proportion of legal bucks in our mule deer herds in over 10 years” as reported by Heraldnet.com. The biologist attributes the forecast to low hunter participation last year as well as the combination of a mild winter and great summer forage.

Currently, rain has not hit Okanogan Highlands Outfitters hunting areas which is in GMU 204. Forecast calls for rain by opening weekend.
